Brainiacs Read!

June 21, 2016 / Detroit Mercy English / Leave a comment

Brainiacs VThanks to our new partnership with Brainiacs Child Development Center on the East Side of Detroit, every preschooler was able to take four brand new books home for the summer.  Not only will these incredible kids have the joy of reading with their families this summer, but they will be more prepared for success next school year.

📚 March is #NationalReadingMonth 📚
Since 2014, Rx for Reading Detroit has distributed over 200,000 books to low-income children and families in Metro Detroit. That’s more than one book for every child in the city of Detroit!
We were proud to be part of this fabulous community baby shower hosted by Detroit Champions for HOPE! These brand new books from Rx for Reading will help new parents and caretakers participate in the "6 a Days"--hugging, playing, talking, encouraging, reading and singing with their little ones every day.
Sometimes a book comes along that is so empowering that you have to buy 1,000 copies to share with 1,000 children!
We are so excited to have distributed over 𝟐𝟎𝟎,𝟎𝟎𝟎 books to kids in our community! Each book represents the gift of imagination and opportunity. Help us keep going by making a donation of any size. And check out our latest match from an anonymous donor up to $5,000!
Rx for Reading Detroit was happy to help provide books to Hard-Court Hitters in order to create and fill a library for their organization this past summer! We look forward to working with them to keep this library stocked with books for every age level!📚
